Asterisk Log – Configure Logger.conf

by Jon on January 6th, 2010

In order to debug and troubleshoot errors in asterisk it is good to be able to look thorough log files to find errors. In order to do this configure logger.conf with the following parameters.

full => notice,warning,error,debug,verbose,dtmf

Using these options asterisk will log everything from the cli output window so you can go back and look through the log if needed. The default log file location is in /var/log/asterisk/ then whatever you name the file in logger.conf, in this example the file would be “full.”

  1. I am completely impressed with the article I have just read. I wish the writer of can continue to provide so much productive information and unforgettable experience to readers. There is not much to say except the following universal truth: The probability you will irrepairably stick your foot in your mouth is directly proportional to the attractiveness of the person you are trying to impress. I will be back.
