How To: Install Network Time Protocol (NTP) on CentOS

Here is a quick and dirty guide to install ntp on CentOS to keep your equipment in time sync for log files and many other reasons. Use the following commands to install, enable and update ntp.

# yum –y install ntp
# chkconfig ntpd on
# ntpdate pool.ntp.org
# /etc/init.d/ntpd start
